Bryan Holaday, a 2006 W.T. White alumnus and TCU grad, just made his major league baseball debut as catcher for the Detroit Tigers last night again Cleveland. He was the sixth-round pick in the 2010 draft after hitting .248 in 36 games with the minor league team Triple-A Toledo.

Holaday is no stranger to the spotlight. He received the 2010 Johnny Bench Award after helping lead the TCU Horned Frogs to the NCAA World Series. The award is given to the most outstanding collegiate catcher in the nation.
