Higgins will lead the Dallas Holocaust Museum

Mary Pat Higgins, Hockaday‘s associate head for finance and administration, will leave the private school by the end of December to become president and CEO of the Dallas Holocaust Museum-Center for Education and Tolerance.

Higgins says she’ll start working with the museum Jan. 1 as the museum will be entering into its capital campaign mid-2013 and she’ll also work on plans for finding the museum a permanent home.

“At Hockaday I’m responsible for overseeing all the building projects but not all the fundraising,” the chief financial officer says. Higgins says she’s excited to take on more work as the museum’s leader.

Current school controller JT Coats will step in as acting associate head when Higgins leaves.

Higgins has been with Hockaday since 1990, and was already a board member and the museum’s treasurer. She is also a board member and treasurer of KERA and received numerous awards.
