Jennifer Staubach Gates

Jennifer Staubach Gates announced she will run for the District 13 council position representing Preston Hollow and portions of North Dallas Dec. 4.

Staubach Gates is the daughter of Dallas Cowboys great Roger Staubach, and her announcement came merely one day after businessman Leland Burk announced he will run for the position currently occupied by Ann Margolin.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Staubach Gates is a registered nurse who has been involved with numerous civic roles.

Businessman Brint Ryan, civic leader Tom Dunning and David Biegler of Southcross Energy all endorse her as the future council leader for our district.

Ann Margolin and her predecessor Mitchell Rasansky announced that they both endorse Burk via a news release Monday.

Staubach Gates serves on The Catholic Foundation Board, Ursuline Academy‘s Foundation Board and has served on the St. Rita Catholic School Board. This year she co-chaired Bishop Farrell’s Golf Tournament that benefits Catholic schools in the Diocese Dallas with her husband John Gates.

“The city of Dallas is in our family DNA. I’ve spent decades as a volunteer in the civic community, and now I would like to use that experience and perspective to represent our community on the Dallas City Council,” Staubach Gates said in a statement obtained by the Dallas Morning News.
