Update at 2:02 p.m.: According to a T.C. Marsh parent, the book signing for David Bates will be rescheduled until after the holidays. The parent says she received the message via a school email.

I reached out to the school and will update the blog with more information as soon as it’s available.

Original post at 9:40 a.m.: David Bates, the LCC/JROTC leader at T.C. Marsh Middle School, signs copies of his newly published book “Narrow it Down.” The signing takes place from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19 in the school’s library, at the northeast corner of Forest and Cox.

The book, published in November, chronicles how Bates started the Leadership Cadet Corps after leaving active duty military service. Bates, whose program has had a greater than 80 percent high school graduation rate, also discusses the education system in the book.

You can bring a copy or purchase a book at the event. Click here to see a 2011 Advocate video of the Leadership Cadet Corps and museum.
