Elizabeth Crowling

Update: Hillcrest Senior Elizabeth Crowling came out on top against four other finalists for a $30,000 Davey O’Brien High School Scholarship.

Original Post: The $30,000 scholarship is given to “an exceptional senior student-athelete” in the North Texas area, and will be announced Jan. 22 at a luncheon in Fort Worth.

Crowling is nominated for multiple reasons: she’s top-ranked in her class, is a four-year varsity athlete in cross country, softball and swimming, she serves as team captain of the cross county and swim teams, is an AP scholar, All-State Academic swimmer, has been on the “A” honor roll every year, she’s a member of the National Honor Society and Academic Success Program and was the alto-saxophone section leader of the marching band in her junior year. Crowling also interned at the UT Southwestern Medical Center and continues to research pancreatic proteins for their Biomedical Research Program. Did I mention she volunteers at a local animal shelter?

The remaining four finalists received $2,500 scholarships.
