Good news for Ursuline Academy’s soccer and lacrosse players. Thursday the City Plan Commission approved a lighted field for the school in a 14-1 vote, reports the Dallas Morning News.

According to Ursuline’s website, more than 150 parents, students, and friends showed up at the council’s chambers to show their support after a previously failed attempt in 2001.

The lighted soccer field will be on campus at the corner of Walnut Hill Lane and Inwood – a huge success for the competitive soccer team after the City Council denied their plans 12 years ago due to neighborhood upset about potential light glare, noise and traffic from games, the Dallas Morning News previously reported.

The new proposal is on a smaller scale than what the school asked for before so that the neighborhood and school may forever live in harmony.
