The continuing debate over whether Ursuline Academy can build a lighted soccer field will come to a vote before City Council May 22 after school administration put it off for a month, the Dallas Morning News reports.

Bill Dahlstrom, Ursuline board member and legal counsel, told the DMN via email, “In an effort to ensure we have fully included every interested neighbor in this process, we have delayed the case so we can continue to include and educate the community.”

Several homeowners say the field will cause too much light glare, noise and traffic from games. The school has rallied for the field since 2001.

District 13 Councilwoman Ann Margolin, who still hasn’t made a stance, says she’ll meet with Ursuline parents and neighbors next week.

The City Plan Commission approved the lighted soccer field late February.
