Corn DogIf you have a straight-A K-12 student in the family (most recent report card, all A grades or equivalent), that student receives a free entrance ($24.95 value) this weekend (June 1-2) only to Summer Adventures in Fair Park, the new rides/show/games/food theme park. Present the report card at a Summer Adventures entrance, and the student receives a free ticket to the park with a paid adult ticket (adult cost is $29.95). You can also buy tickets online, but you’ll need to show up at the park ticket booths with the report card to take advantage of this special promotion.

Summer Adventures includes about 30 rides, several animal and entertainment shows, plenty of carnival games and lots of food; all rides except for the Sky Coaster are included in the entrance fee. The park is open Saturday from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and will be open daily from Friday, June 7, through Aug. 18.

As always, don’t forget this disclosure: My wife works at the park, so I’m biased because if you stop by for the day, you’re helping her keep her job!
