A sharply contested 180,00 square foot Walmart and 136,000 square foot Sam’s Club will be built at Midway and LBJ early 2015.

The Dallas City Council approved the big box store’s plans in a meeting last week, the Dallas Morning News reports.

In a Jan. 23 Glen Meadows Homeowners Association meeting with a broker, architect, realtor and civil engineer behind the then-proposed Walmart and Sam’s Club, neighbors erupted in anger when they learned Walmart delivery trucks will use LBJ to access Midway for deliveries. “Traffic is bad enough,” most people complained.

The entire strip center in the 12000 block of Midway will be torn down except for Midway Point and In-N-Out Burger, says city planner Neva Dean.
