This morning at 2:52 the city responded to a water main burst at Inwood and ForestĀ in the Forestwood shopping center. City spokesman Frank Librio says that the six foot water main was isolated at 3:35 a.m. He states via email that 12-13 businesses in the shopping centerĀ have had their watered turned off. Town & Country Pet Hospital, Holly’s Yarne Shoppe, one vacant storefront, and All About Kids Dentistry suffered flooding as a result of the burst water main.

Librio estimates that 5-6 hours will be needed for businesses to repair damages. The Dallas Morning News reports that flooding at the animal hospital was inches away from reaching the animal cages.

Update: Librio states that the water at the shopping center was restored to the businesses listed above at 12:55 p.m. He also says thatĀ Dallas Water personnel are in the process of “backfilling the excavation and making temporary repairs to the pavement, which will be complete today by close of business.”Ā All of the flooded units have restoration companies onsite addressing water damage inside the units and crews performing cleanup.
