Volunteer-run organization Friends of the Northaven Trail will host a meeting about the second phase of development for the Northaven Trail Thursday, Nov. 7, 6:30 p.m. at Grace Bible Church at Inwood and Northaven.

The Northaven Trail — a commuter and recreational bike and hike trail built and maintained by the Dallas Parks and Recreation Department — currently runs through the Oncor power line easement between Northaven and Royal.

Phase two will connect the trail to Irving’s Campion Trail to the west.

The meeting, sponsored by the City of Dallas Parks and Recreation Department and Dallas County, will cover the city’s master plan for Northaven Trail, which is proposed to run from Central Expressway to Denton and when completed, will connect the White Rock Creek Trail on the east and Irving’s Campion Trail on the west.

Eventually, there will also be connections to DART’s Forest Lane Station and Walnut Hill/Denton Station, according to the Friends of the Northaven Trail website.
