President Obama will visit Temple Emanu-El this Wednesday, Nov.6, to meet with volunteers who’ve worked to help community members understand Obamacare, reports the Dallas Morning News.

Just last month, the article states, several local church and community groups met at Temple Emanu-El to kick off a campaign aimed at helping uninsured Texans sort through the confusion.

One of those community groups, Dallas Area Interfaith, raised more than $20,000 to produce 100,000 bilingual booklets for the cause.

President Obama is currently traveling to raise funds, and White House aides say that the Temple visit is meant to highlight the churches “creative consumer education efforts.”

Last night, Rabbi David Stern (whose interfaith Temple programs were featured back in our Dec. 2010 issue) and president Scott McCartney emailed congregants, saying that “selecting Temple as the location for the meeting reflects the central role Temple volunteers have played in health issues in Dallas.”

“With our Dallas Area Interfaith partners, Temple members have advocated for Medicaid expansion and created the Durable Medical Exchange of Dallas, along with our most recent efforts to educate citizens for health care under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act,” Stern and McCartney wrote.
