Hillcrest High School graduate Kornblit will be at the Preston Hollow Library on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 2-4 p.m. to discuss her novel, “Shelter from the Texas Heat.” She will address her background growing up in Dallas, her writing process, connections to the assasination, and themes of racial and religious prejudice that are addressed in her book.

The 36th annual Chi Omega Christmas Market, held at Fair Park’s Centennial Hall, attracts 10,000 shoppers each year. More than 180 merchants, cherry-picked by the Preston Hollow based sorority alumnae, brings jewelry, toys, home décor, holiday decorations, art, linens, fashion, food and more. General admission shopping will be held Thursday 1-9 p.m., Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and those tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Parking is $10 (enter at gate two for plentiful spots closest to the door), and you can valet for an additional $10.
