The Frontiers of Flight Museum has experienced growth this year under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Cheryl Sutterfield-Jones. Thanks to a new website, donor and marketing initiatives, as well as new programs and exhibits, there’s been a 30% increase in attendance just last year alone.
Now, the educational programs at the Frontiers of Flight Museum are slated for expansion, too, due to the museum being awarded a grant of $50,000 from The Boeing Company.
The grant money will go towards the museum’s on site and satellite STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education programs. The classes are currently available to 6,000 students annually, and with the grant money, will be expanded to serve over 12,000 students in 2014.
“The Museum is a learning laboratory, using aviation and space flight to encourage and promote student excellence in STEM education. Boeing’s support of the Frontiers of Flight Museum serves to further support the enrichment of North Texas cultural and educational opportunities,” says Sutterfield-Jones.
“The Frontiers of Flight Museum is grateful for Boeing’s support of our future growth and innovative development of our educational programs. This is a significant donation, and one we are very proud of receiving,” she says.
