Medical City Dallas: Epic Health Services

Dallas Business Journal reports Medical City Children’s Hospital just finished renovations in 66 patient rooms on the hospital’s sixth floor. Upgrades include sleeper sofas, fresh paint on the walls, new TVs with DVD players, and wood-look laminate flooring. The $750,000 project took four months to complete.

Wednesday morning at 8:15 a.m., a small fire at a senior citizen home on Forest and Highdale forced about 50 residents to briefly evacuate. Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans tells the Dallas Morning News that firefighters “were able to contain and extinguish the fire in less than an hour.” No injuries were reported and firefighters are still looking into what started the fire.

Preston Hollow resident Mayor Mike Rawlins visited young philanthropists at a party that raised $20,000 for Project Amplify, a nonprofit benefitting at-risk students in West and South Dallas, CultureMap reports.
