local mail goes missing

It’s enough of a chore to get a good picture of the family, find your relatives addresses, and to get Christmas cards out in time before Dec. 25. But some Preston Hollow residents who were able to accomplish mailing out holiday cards this year learned this week that the post office they mailed their cards at was a target of theft.

United States Postal Service officers are investigating possible theft after several families in Preston Hollow and Park Cities say their mail was never delivered, according to WFAA News.

Earlier in the week, the USPS was investigating a personnel matter at the same post office, located at Hillcrest and Northwest Highway.

A postal service spokesman says that they are continuing to investigate the matter and believe that the mail was stolen from a mail drop-box outside of the post office. In the meantime, if you have used the drop-off box at that branch, it might be a good idea to double check if your mail ever reached its intended location.
