Preston Hollow resident Kristen Massad, a local pastry chef and former owner of Tart Bakery on Lovers Lane, writes a monthly column sharing her original recipes for gourmet desserts that you can make at home.

This month, she has melt-in-your-mouth dark chocolate caramels.

Massad graduated from the French Culinary Institute in New York City and owned Tart for more than eight years. She knows her stuff.

Today, she runs Ink Foods, where she also writes about desserts and entertaining, and shares her original and family recipes. Look for her work in our current issue.
