Below is a summary of a handful of crimes that have occurred over the past week in our neighborhood, courtesy police reports from the Dallas Police Department.
At a construction site located on Banner and Merit, a site worker observed a suspect driving an older model white Chevrolet pull up and steal $300 worth of copper before fleeing the scene at 9:45 a.m. on Jan. 24.
Between 11 p.m. on Jan. 25 and 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 26, an unknown suspect entered through the open garage and an unlocked door of a residence on the 6500 block of Willow. A purse and money clip, along with several Apple products, were stolen. Losses are estimated at $2,600.
During the morning of Jan. 26, a woman returning to her home on the 7000 block of Lane Park after church discovered that the lock on her rear door handle had been damaged. The suspect was unable to gain entry; damage to the lock is estimated at $200.Â
Around noon on Jan. 26, a resident of the 6200 block of Woodlands discovered items in his cars had been shuffled around. After reviewing security footage, the resident observed that at midnight a suspect dressed in dark clothing had indeed entered the resident’s cars and also peeked into a front window of the house before fleeing the scene on foot.
In the parking lot of Tom Thumb, located at S. Central and Meadow, an unknown suspect broke the rear window of a Mercedes Benz around 1 p.m. on Jan. 26. Damage is estimated at $500.
Between 10 p.m. on Jan. 26 and 6 a.m. on Jan. 27, an unknown suspect cut through a plastic  Jeep window parked on the 11,400 block of Strait, stealing $1,000 worth of baseball gear and a car stereo.Â
