A summary of several crimes that occurred recently in our neighborhood, courtesy police reports from the Dallas Police Department. 

On Wednesday, Feb. 5, just after 4 p.m., a man returned to his vehicle parked in the Lincoln Park Center to find a suspect attempting to forcibly enter his vehicle. The suspect fled the scene with an accomplice. The man’s car was not stolen, but the lock on the driver’s side door and ignition were both punched out.

On Feb. 6 and Feb. 7, an elderly woman living in the 7800 block of Park wired $7800 via MoneyGram over the phone to a man falsely claiming to be her grandson. The man dialed the woman from the phone number 438.930.5984.

On Feb. 7, between 6-6:30 p.m., a wallet was stolen from a purse of a patron at a restaurant located in the shopping center on the northwest corner of Preston and Forest. The purse was hanging on the back of her chair.

On Feb. 8, the Walgreens located at Hillcrest and W. Northwest Hwy was burglarized. A suspect entered through ceiling tiles and stole “unspecified amounts” of hydrocodone, oxycontin, and prednisone.
