Back in January, the city plan commission approved plans for a new gated community off Forest Lane and Creekway Drive, and now it’s official. The city council OK’d the re-zoning Wednesday.

For the details, read our previous report about the four-and-a-half-acre site, which already was zoned for single-family development. A zoning change was needed to create a planned development district, allowing for shared access.

To help minimize the development’s impact to its neighbors on the north, changes to the plan include a 10-foot increase to the setback, and the future homes must have frosted or opaque glass, according to the Hillcrest Forest Neighborhood Association, which posted a follow-up to the issue on its website.
