Dallas ISD school board elections are coming around again on May 10 for three areas, including one of ours, District 2, which includes the Hillcrest and Woodroow communities. The incumbent trustee Mike Morath ran unopposed in 2011 and, having committed 10 years to the job, is running for re-election.
This time, Morath faces a challenger: Sabrina Martinez Harrison. The Dallas Morning news reports that she is a homemaker and owner of Mint Dentistry.
Challengers also have stepped up in the two other races this round outside our neighborhood in District 6 and District 8. The filing period ends Friday.
