549For the third year in a row, a Preston Hollow-area resident took home top prize at the New Play Competition put on by TeCo Theatrical Productions at the Bishop Arts Theatre in Oak Cliff.

Antay Bilgutay of Glen Meadows won for his character-driven one-act play “Strangers in a Chapel,” about two people who seek refuge in a hospital chapel.

The arts news publication Theater Jones reviewed all the plays from the two-weekend festival, calling Bilgutay’s production a “strong, soulful work and presenting the most finished performance in the 12 Annual New Play Competition.”

Bilgutay has a degree in theater studies and English from Yale University and works at the director of development for the Dallas Theater Center.
