Now, after a rigorous application process, he’s a finalist for the prestigious Gates Millennium Scholarship for which more than 50,000 high school seniors applied, and only 2,000 made the cut. In April, 1,000 students will receive the award.

Jared already has been accepted to several colleges and universities, including Texas A&M, University of Texas, Oklahoma State, Ithaca College, just to name a few. He will be the first in his family to attend college.

He’s interested in becoming a civil engineer, a doctor or a veterinarian as he spends his free time volunteering at Operation Kindness and East Lake Pet Orphanage.
