Preston Royal library celebrates 50 years this Saturday.

Celebrate 50 years of the Preston Royal Library at its anniversary celebration, this Saturday. The festivities kick off at 10:30 a.m. with a cake and punch reception and an appearance from Preston Hollow neighbor and Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings. Children’s activities, including stories, crafts, and face painting, will start at 2 p.m.

Help the Human Rights Initiative of North Texas, a Dallas-based nonprofit serving immigrant victims of violence through legal and social services, by running in the 5k for Human Rights at Bachman Lake this Saturday. The one-mile fun run begins at 9:30 a.m.; the 5K is at 10 a.m. A raffle, food trucks and live music will follow. Cost is $20-$35, free for children under age 9, and $5 for dogs.

The W.T. White Street Fair will be held this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Community members and families in the W.T. White feeder pattern are invited to the fourth annual fair, which will be held in the high school’s parking lot. Play games, shop, and visit food trucks at this year’s celebration.
