Home tour season is in full swing and, for those who appreciate contemporary design, there’s a big one coming up this weekend.

The Spring Modern Home Tour is 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, May 17, and it features a few Park Cities and Preston Hollow-area abodes that are definitely worth a peek.

Go inside “The Rose House” (4504 Bordeaux), the mid-century classic designed by famed Dallas architect Howard Meyer, well known for his work on Temple Emanu-El. Built in 1938, the home one of the oldest surviving examples of his work.

Several new builds also are on the tour, including the energy-efficient home at 5771 Berkshire. Venture just north of LBJ to see 6166 Preston Creek Place, completed just last year.

The tour is self-guided. Buy tickets on site or in advance here. A preview party is 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 16, featuring discussions with architects. Proceeds benefit the Dallas Architecture Forum.
