Screen Shot 2014-05-13 at 3.11.09 PMAs construction gets underway on its new facility at 6000 Preston at Normandy, the Park Cities YMCA has signed a lease for a temporary location at Luther and Westchester in the newly redeveloped “The Corner at Preston Center.”

The YMCA will move into the 15,300-square-foot space when the $28 million fundraising campaign reaches 80 percent of its goal. Right now, it’s at about 50 percent with $13.5 million.

“We have been so fortunate to have such generous donors such as the Moody Foundation and many other community members and families leading the way,” says board chair John Palms. “I am confident that we will continue to engage our community in our fundraising efforts and will hit the 80 percent mark in 2014.”

The Park Cities Y will occupy the space for 2-14 months.
