On Friday and Saturday Inwood Theatre presents midnight screenings of, “Bernie,” a black comedy based on the true story of East Texas assistant funeral home director Bernie Tiede. Tickets cost $10 each; purchase online or at the box office. Fun fact: Preston Hollow-dweller and Texas Monthly feature reporter Skip Hollandsworth helped out with the screenplay for the film, which happens to be based off Hollandsworth’s TM piece Midnight in the Garden of East Texas. Learn more behind-the-scenes nuggets about the film in this post about Hollandsworth from Advocate publisher Christina Hughes Babb.
