PH spray

It’s best not to go outside without some form of bug repellant right now. After more than a few ground sprayings this summer, mosquitos carrying the West Nile virus are still present around Preston Hollow.

Just today the city of Dallas released a statement indicating that yet another mosquito pool near the 6600 block of Norway Road has tested positive for West Nile Virus.

Weather permitting, the area delineated in the map above is scheduled for mosquito control spraying on Monday, Aug. 18 and Tuesday, Aug. 19, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. on each night.

In addition to ground sprayings, the city has scheduled additional spraying for water inlets to reduce mosquito breeding. Dallas Morning News reports that storm water inlets near the 15400 block of Meandering Way, the 6000 block of Lakehurst Avenue and the 11400 block of Park Central Drive are being sprayed from noon-4 p.m. today to reduce mosquito abundance.
