A mosquito pool near the 6900 block of Churchill has tested positive for West Nile Virus. This is the ninth pool to identify the presence of West Nile-carrying mosquitos in Preston Hollow since summer began.

Weather permitting, the area above is scheduled for mosquito control spraying tonight and tomorrow evening, Sept. 4, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night.

The area to be sprayed is within an area generally bounded by Hillcrest Plaza on the north, Marbrook on the west, Lueders on the east and Forest on the south.

While the insecticide is approved by the Environmental Protection Agency, residents (and their pets) should stay inside during the spraying.

The city urges residents to report standing water — which can be a major mosquito breeding ground, contributing to the spread of the virus — by calling 311 or using the 311 mobile phone app.
