The Preston Hollow Early Childhood Association is kicking off the school year with its first Party in the Park 4:30-6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21 in Preston Hollow Park. There’ll be games, face painting, a balloon artiest, Stanley the Steam Engine, Hamburger Man and other family activities.

The event is being held in conjunction with Reading Partners, a national organization that works with more than 160 schools in low-income areas across Texas and seven other states. At the party, PHECA will be collecting gently used books for kindergarten through fourth-grade reading classes and will donate them to Reading Partners.

Tickets are $20 per family, and are required in advance. Go here to register.

Preston Hollow Park is at the corner of Thackery and Park Lane.
