The Windsor Park neighborhood is on alert after two recent home burglaries in the vicinity of the Walnut Hill/Hillcrest intersection.

According to a crime notice from the Windsor Park Neighborhood Association, thieves broke into a home on Ashington, beat up the owner’s dog, and stole jewelry and computers last Friday around noon. The suspects pried open the garage door and broke through the back door of the residence to gain entry. It is possible that the same thieves burglarized a second home on Joyce Way as well.

The only possible sighting was of a “brownish maroon older car.”

The Dallas Police Department has advised that residents set home security alarms — even for a short trip to the grocery store — as a method of deterrence. If you have any information about the burglaries, call the Dallas police at 214.671.3000.
