Jesuit speech and debate director honored
Dan Lingel, director of the Jesuit College Preparatory School debate team, was recently elected for induction into the Texas Forensic Association’s hall of fame at the association’s annual convention in Lubbock. ESD senior gets published
Christina Gordon, a senior at The Episcopal School of Dallas has become a published author with the release of her book, “Finding Hope: A Dog’s Tale.” The story is told from the point of view of a homeless, stray dog that ultimately finds a home with a family of immigrants just like himself. Meet Gordan this Thursday from 4-6 p.m. at Blue Print as she signs copies of her book.
Lamplighter graduate, now a senior at St. Mark’s, makes the youth national USA men’s water polo team
Lamplighter alum Timothy Simenc is the first Dallas native to make the youth national USA men’s water polo team, and only the second Texan in history to earn a spot. That’s according to the Lamplighter School website, which first announced the news about the 2007 Lamplighter graduate, now a senior at St. Mark’s School of Texas. Simenc won a gold medal at the Pan-American games this summer, participated in the FINA Youth Worlds in Istanbul, Turkey, and competed in the 6 Nations Tournament in Acireale, Sicily. He also spent 52 days with his team, including nearly a month in Europe; the longest a youth team has ever stayed together in the history of USA Water Polo.
