Snap Kitchen, a new Austin-based health-conscious restaurant chain, opened up today in Preston Royal Village (in suite 314, right near Cantina Laredo.)

The new spot joins an array of health-focused restaurants that have opened up around our neighborhood, including Green House Market, True Food Kitchen, and LYFE Kitchen. Eventually there will be Modmarket too.

So what sets Snap Kitchen apart? For starters they only serve pre-made, portioned meals prepared fresh daily with nutritional information on every item. So it’s more of a take and go sort of place. There are also a bunch of menus, from low-salt to gluten-free to Paleo “style.”

Earlier this year we reported that some of those menu items include Creole eggs and grits, made with tofu and cauliflower; peanut butter pancakes with steel-cut oats; cucumber and tomatillo gazpacho soup; and Malaysian vegetable curry.

Hours are as follows:
Mon.-Thur. 7 a.m.–9 p.m.
Fri. 7 a.m.–8 p.m.
Sat. 9 a.m.–8 p.m.
Sun. 9 a.m.–9 p.m.
