Looking to change up your exercise routine in 2015? The Jewish Community Center offers a series of free classes rooted in the idea that live instruments can enhance a workout.

“Fitness in F Flat” features Richard Punch, a trained violinist from the Julliard School of Music who will perform a range of musical styles such as hip hop, R&B, jazz and gospel, during four different classes.

“We wanted to mix things up,” says Terri Arends, the J’s fitness director (remember dog yoga?). “It’s not only proven to help to shift one’s energy into high gear, it will be fun and inspirational …”

Here’s the schedule for the new series:

Spinning: 9-10 a.m. Jan. 9
Gentle Flow Yoga:  10:30-11:30 a.m. Jan. 11
Zumba: 9:15-10:15 a.m. Jan. 18
Flow Yoga: 4-5 p.m. Feb. 8

The classes are free and open to members and non-members. It’s best to reserve a spot. Call Terri Arends at 214.239.7137 or email tarends@jccdallas.org.
