Aphrodite margarita at Cantina Laredo
Cantina Laredo offers a special menu Feb. 12-14 and features its new Aphrodite margarita made with 1800 reposado tequila and Solerno blood orange liqueur, passion fruit and pomegranate. The menu includes an appetizer, entree and dessert for $35 per person with optional cocktail pairings for $15 more.

The owners’ other venture, The Second Floor, has a couples cooking class 1-3 p.m. Feb. 7, hosted by chefs themselves, Scott Gottlich and Andrea Maricich. The theme is breakfast in bed, and the feast includes red velvet crepes, eggs Benedict and a lobster avocado omelet along with tea, bloody Marys, mimosas and Irish coffee. RSVP here.
Empire Baking Company has a list of Valentine’s Day treats that you can order with special messages to your date, which include some pretty good rhymes and puns. The list features heart-shaped linzer cookies, fudge brownies, cranberry scones, strawberry jam, and a box of Crazy Good Toffee made with dark chocolate and macadamia nut.
You can pick up special to-go orders from Kent Rathbun’s new Kitchen at 6130. The Valentine’s Day list of sweets includes: a red velvet cake, a white-chocolate raspberry cheesecake, a dozen cake balls, and a dozen macarons. Feb. 11 is the last day to place orders.
