The filing deadline for city council candidates ended Friday, and our Preston Hollow and North Dallas councilmembers are forging ahead to the next two years at City Hall in uncontested races.
Councilwoman Jennifer Staubach Gates of District 13 and Councilman Lee Kleinman of District 11 both landed their seats on the city council in the last election cycle, entering what has become an eventful first term.
Also running uncontested are Philip Kingston, Adam Medrano, Sandy Greyson and Scott Griggs.
Meanwhile, six councilmembers are termed out this year, opening the field to several new candidates, including three challengers for Mayor Mike Rawlings.
The election is May 9.
