The Preston Hollow Village restaurant hosts a fundraiser for the Dallas Parks Foundation 5-8 p.m. May 12 with 20 percent of sales benefiting the organization (also check out CONFAB this Thursday night for a conversation with urban park experts). Another event during the same time on May 19 supports the Friends of the Northaven Trail.

During a 5k run/walk, Ursuline Academy’s Support Our Troops student club is raising money for the Carry the Load Foundation and Travis Manion Foundation, which honor fallen soldiers and help soldiers returning home. The event begins at 9 a.m. May 16 at Bachman Lake, and the students hope to bring in at least $2,000 in donations.

During the monthly Midtown Art Walk at Valley View Center, artists will raise money for the earthquake relief effort in Nepal. Margo Lee Miller of Badmargo Art Gallery and Studio is donating 50 percent of the sale of a special painting, and containers for donations will be placed throughout the galleries. Several Dallas-area residents from Nepal affected by the disaster will be on hand to answer questions and share their stories. The event is 6-10 p.m. May 16.

Jesuit presents the Wounded Warrior Amputees vs. the Dallas Cowboys and NFL Alumni of Texas 6-9 p.m. May 21 at the school.
