This weekend: CONFAB, art, knitting, baseball and theater

May 14 is CONFAB, the third-annual conference from the Dallas Parks Foundation offers a day of speakers on parks, trails, bike infrastructure and urban planning at Dallas City Performance Hall.

The Preston Pearls Knitting Social is 1-3 p.m. Friday at Preston Royal Library. Needles and yarn are provided for beginners.

The Meadows Museum presents an afternoon gallery talk at 12:15 p.m. Friday: “Traditional Painting and the Contemporary Eye,” with Sedrick Huckaby, assistant professor of painting at the University of Texas at Arlington.

Town North YMCA has its annual baseball parade 5:30-7 p.m. Friday. It will be led by fire trucks and includes a contest, home run derby, and food from Burger House.

The Gallery at Midtown hosts its monthly Midtown Art Walk 6-10 p.m. Saturday. You can bring donations to support the earthquake relief effort in Nepal.

The Habima Theatre at the Jewish Community Center presents “Mary Poppins” at 4 p.m. Sunday.
