Plastic bags have been a hot topic in Preston Hollow for months. In January, the city established a controversial carryout bag ordinance. Those of us who forgot to pack reusable bags, grew accustomed to shelling out 5 cents for the disposable variety. Starting Monday, we can hang on to our nickels. The Dallas Morning News reported that councilmembers, including Jennifer Staubach Gates and Lee Kleinman voted 10-4 to repeal the ordinance.

The popular breakfast taco spot, Taco Joint, is coming to our neighborhood. CultureMap reports the East Dallas restaurant plans to open a location in Preston Center this summer.

A new spin bike store opened at NorthPark Center between Nordstrom and Neiman’s. Peloton sells a monthly subscription for virtual classes.
