Talk of bobcats has waned, but it might be time to reinvigorate the conversation. Hillcrest East Crime Watch recently sent out two memos about the predators.

The first arrived August 7. It included the terribly sad news that a pet cat was found torn to bits in the 7000 block of Northaven Road. Its owners suspect a bobcat is to blame. Another of their cats, a black and white male, went missing that same day. They hope he simply ran away in fear and will return home soon.

The second memo cautioned Preston Hollow residents against leaving their small animals unattended. It also featured this photo of two bobcats skulking around Azalea Road:
