Cool cats are welcome at Uncle Calvin’s this Friday. But don’t wrangle Fluffy into her crate just yet. I’m talking about jazz enthusiasts, not felines. Julie Bonk, a UNT grad who has played with Bob Hope and The Supremes, will headline the show. Tickets start at $15. For more information, click here.

If your favorite board game has accumulated a layer of dust, head to Preston Royal Library August 22. There, you’ll find plenty of folks who love Settlers of Catan every bit as much as you do. Young@Heart Game Day begins at 1 p.m. and is open to people 12 and up.

Maybe board games aren’t your jam. If that’s the case, consider visiting The Shops at Park Lane instead. Saturday, you can check out the new J. Crew concept store and take a cake decorating class at Whole Foods. The class is $25 and promises to teach students the basket weave frosting technique. Spend Sunday on the couch, devouring your creation – because, why not?
