According to a recent email from Brent Herling, the section of the Forest Lane mural hit by a pickup July 19 has been torn down.

Herling, who spearheaded the restoration of the mural in 2014, says he’s up for the task again.

“I have paint and people ready to re-create the original art once the wall is rebuilt,” he says. “We will have to try to mimic the original damage that prompted the kids in the 70’s to paint a cave opening.”

No word yet on when bricks will be laid, but we’ll keep you posted.
