Arlene Young believes everyone deserves a bit of pampering. She’s the owner of Total Image Beauty Services, an on-location mobile salon that serves clients with physical and mental challenges. The salon travels to residences and hospitals throughout DFW, but is headquartered in our neighborhood, just off North Central Expressway.

Recently, Young graduated from YWCA of Metropolitan Dallas’ (YW) Women’s Enterprise Center, which provides “Dallas women that qualify as low and moderate-income with the business training, financial skills, and personal development needed to ensure their small businesses succeed.”

On Nov. 13, Young and two other female entrepreneurs presented their ideas to a panel of accomplished business leaders, including Alfreda Norman of The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas; Brent Christopher of Communities Foundation of Texas; and Cheryl Hall of The Dallas Morning News.

The panelists provided feedback after each presentation and everybody celebrated the Shark’s Tank-esque event with refreshments and hors d’oeuvres at YW’s new digs on Inwood Road.
