Tax returns can be tricky. That’s why 18 branches of the Dallas Public Library, including Park Forest and Preston Royal, will offer free assistance Feb. 2 through April 15.

These services were designed by AARP Tax-Aide and the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program with non-English speakers, low-to-moderate income individuals, those with disabilities and the elderly in mind. But anyone can drop in for help. Bring your W-2, a photo I.D., last year’s tax return and Social Security cards for all dependents.

Assistance will be available at the Park Forest Library every Monday from 12-4 p.m. starting Feb. 2. The Preston Royal Library will also offer assistance on Mondays from 12-4 p.m. but not until Feb. 26.
