Brittany Arterberry says she was pepper sprayed around 5 p.m. yesterday, Jan. 27, in a parking garage outside of NorthPark Center. According to police reports, the suspects — two African American men and one African American woman in their mid-twenties to mid-thirties — attempted to steal her purse. When Arterberry put up a fight, they tried forcing her into their gray Buick LeSabre, a late 90’s model.

Thankfully, Arterberry’s husband, James, was present and he pulled his wife out of the car. While this was happening, another witness approached the suspects with a pocketknife. Eventually, the aggressors piled into the Buick and fled the scene. Fox 4 News reports that Arterberry had just “finished putting her 3-year-old’s stroller in the trunk” when the crime allegedly occurred.

The suspects are described in more detail on dpdbeat.com “as a Black male in his mid 30’s, 6’2” approximately 200lbs wearing a gray hoodie (thermal fabric), gray sweat pants with red on them, a B/M in his mid 20’s, 5’10” approximately 160 – 170lbs, and a B/F mid 20’s skinny and her clothing had a burnt orange or red stripe.”
