The athletic talent at the Episcopal School of Dallas (ESD) appears to be off the charts. On February 13, the girls’ varsity soccer team, which is coached by Mike Renshaw, won the Southwestern Preparatory Conference (SPC) championship … for the third year in a row!

The game against St. Stephen’s Episcopal School was a close one. The score hovered at 0-0 until the last 20 seconds, when ESD senior Nicole Curry scored the lone goal. Curry will play for University of Texas next year.

Two other team members have committed to playing soccer at the collegiate level. MacKenzie Kelly, a 12th grader, will join the team at Bates College; and ninth-grader Emma Viquez has already been courted to play for Texas Christian University when she graduates in 2019, but says she’s still keeping her options open.

*The version has been corrected. An early version incorrectly stated that Emma Viquez had already committed to playing for TCU.
