Norma’s Café, a 60-year-old Dallas institution, will open the doors at its Park Lane location in late June.
Bill Ziegler, operations manager at Norma’s, says they’ll have a low-key opening at first to welcome loyal customers in this part of town, then host a grand opening a few weeks after that. (May rains complicated the construction schedule, but crews are hustling up, hoping to get everything finished in time.)
The former Souper Salad space isn’t technically in Lake Highlands, but LHers have been champing at the bit for Norma’s diner-style deliciousness – especially their Blue Plate Special breakfasts – since Crossroads Diner left for Far North Dallas. (My suggestion: the Big Ol’ Number 7, yum!) You can see their full menu here.
Ziegler gave me a peek into the unfinished store, and it’s all Happy Days, with comfy booths, counter seating and cases up front for their famous Mile High Cream Pies.
As Fonzie might say, Perfectamundo.
