Come celebrate the biggest expo on space in the entire state, which takes place at the Frontiers of Flight Museum this Saturday, July 16. At 10:30 a.m., catch a live chat with astronauts from the International Space Station. The featured speaker is Walt Cunningham, a lunar module pilot of the Apollo 7 mission and the last surviving crew member, who will discuss the Apollo program at 12:30 p.m. See a full schedule of the day’s events, which are included with the price of admission ($7-$10).

Area chambers of commerce will raise funds for the Assist the Officer Foundation and collect blood donations for Carter BloodCare during a barbecue on Friday, July 15, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church. Called Dallas Strong, there is a suggested donation of $25 per plate, which will benefit the families of officers gunned down in the July 7 tragedy.

Dallas CASA’s 21st annual Parade of Playhouses goes on display from July 15-31, raising funds for and awareness about abused and neglected children living in Dallas. You can enter the raffle for a chance to win one of the fanciful playhouses, which are created and donated by local builders and architects. The Microsoft store at NorthPark Center will be hosting a free camp that will teach kids how to create and publish an interactive computer game. The two-hour class is from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 16. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required.
