Whether they participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s or the fifth annual Hoedown, Edgemere residents and team members have dedicated their time to raising funds and awareness of the brain disease.

The nonprofit senior living community raised $25,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association’s Greater Dallas Chapter through several events, which also includes the Forget-Me-Not Gala, Casual for a Cause and an annual garage sale.

“Every year, the residents and team members amaze me with their generosity and passion to help those impacted by Alzheimer’s,” said John Falldine, managing director of Edgemere, in a press release. “This is a cause close to our hearts, as we enrich the lives of memory support residents in The Plaza Health Services at Edgemere each and every day. We are hopeful that by continuing to build awareness and raising research funds, researchers will find a cure.”

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, the disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States.
