NorthPark Center President Nancy A. Nasher is one of two Dallasites being honored by The Arts Community Alliance.

The Hockaday School alumnus is a recipient of TACA’s 2017 Silver Cup Award, which recognizes one man and one woman for their contributions to local arts. Longtime banking executive Walter Elcock, who now is a trustee of the Dallas Museum of Art, also is an honoree.

Nasher was chosen for the award because of her advocacy efforts for the arts and her involvement with a multitude of cultural and educational organizations —including the Nasher Sculpture Center Board of Trustees, AT&T Performing Arts Center and Dallas Opera — just to name a few.

Nasher and her husband David Haemisegger have spearheaded NorthPark Center since 1995. Known for its retail, art and architecture, the shopping center’s overall sales exceeded $1.3 million last year.

Nasher and Elcock were named as honorees earlier this month, but they won’t receive their awards until March 7, 2017.
